Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Wife: “Another Court Session Will Be Held for My Husband!”

HRANA News Agency – Mrs. Mohammedan, Mohammad Ali Taheri’s wife told that soon another court hearing was going to be held for her husband, while emphasizing the threat against any kind of objection due to “being Mr. Taheri’s wife”, and announced that she would refuse the visits or telephone calls as a form of protest and strike.

Hamza Darwish in a Critical Condition in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hamza Darwish, young Sunni prisoner in Evin prison who suffers from mental illnesses, was severely beaten and insulted by a hospital staff and two soldiers in the hospital. The officials continued to ignore his complain and medical care. The family of the prisoner have been threatened by the intelligence officers on the condition of their son.

Shanaz Akmali’s Family Confused by Authorities’ False Information

HRANA News Agency – On January 28, 2017, Karim Baigi family referred to the prosecutor’s office while having the required bail but judicial authorities told them, “she would not be released on the bail, she is now in prison custody”. Apparently interrogators have provided false information to the prisoner or her family on several occasions and causing confusion and increased the psychological pressure on them.

Arash Sadeghi Ended Hunger Strike in Ward 350 of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Arash Sadeghi, civil activist in ward 350 of Evin prison, has ended his hunger strike since couple of days ago based on prosecutor’s promises, and was transferred to Imam Khomeini hospital in Tehran for one day and was returned to the prison again.

Habib Sasanian Transferred to a Hospital in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – On February 4, 2017, Habib Sasanian, jailed poet from Ardabil in Tabriz prison was transferred to Sina hospital. Mr. Sasanian has been held on security charges in the prison since 8 months ago.

14 Civil Rights Activists Acquitted in the Court of Ardabil

HRANA News Agency – Fourteen civilians from Ardabil who due to lighting candles for the victims of Tabriz-Mashhad train accident had been prosecuted by the police, were acquitted by emphasis on the lack of sufficient evidences for the accusations in branch twelve of General and Revolutionary Courts in Ardabil.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), according to the verdict of branch twelve of General and Revolutionary Courts in Ardabil, Mohammad Jollani, Mohammad Khakpour, Saeed Sadeghifar, Morteza Parvin, Tohid Amir Amini, Mehdi Hoshmand, Meysam Jollani, Asgar Akbarzade, Ali Kheirjo, Ali Vaseghi, Hamid Adib, Bahram Noien, Mosa Sori and Mustafa Parvin, were acquitted due to insufficient evidences of the charge of propaganda against the system by lighting candles for the victims of Tabriz-Mashhad train accident. A Bail Issued for Shahnaz Akmali

HRANA News Agency – Shahnaz Akmali, mother of Mostafa Karim Baigi, a victim of the protests in 2009, was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence on January 25, 2017 and was transferred to the cells of ward 209 of Evin prison. Mrs. Akmali was earlier taken to a hospital for undisclosed reasons, and on January 26, 2017 a bail was issued for her.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists New Agency in Iran (HRANA), Shahnaz Akmali has told her family in a brief contact that a bail of 1 billion IRR had been issued for her and she was kept in, “multi-cells” of ward 209 of Evin prison. Oshnavieh: One Sentenced to Death, 6 to Heavy Imprisonments

HRANA News Agency – On January 29, 2017, six defendants of clashes in Oshnavieh, who were sentenced to death and 95 years in prison by Urmia Revolutionary Court recently, were transferred to solitary confinement after demanding the authorities to consider the principle of separation of prisoners as a punishment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), by the order of the President of Central Prison in Urmia, six the defendants of the case of clashes in Oshnavieh, namely Hedayat Abdollahpour, Rasoul Azizi, Mohammad Zaher Faramarzi, Jalal Masrori, Yaghob Ba Ekram and Kamal Masrori were transferred to solitary confinement from general wards of 3, 4 and 5 as a punishment.
