Ali Tavakoli “My Mom Has Been on Hunger Strike for Two Days in Solidarity with Majid”

HRANA – On Sunday, May 23, Majid Tavakoli was transferred to solitary confinement for speaking out against the statements by the representative of Tehran’s Prosecutor during a session with the representative and other prisoners protesting the results of the presidential election.

Majid Tavakoli has gone on a dry hunger strike since his transfer, which is extremely dangerous due to the lack of any liquid intake. Yesterday afternoon, certain outlets reported that Mr. Tavakoli’s condition has severely deteriorated.

An Afghan prisoner hanged in Iran

HRANA News Agency – On Saturday, February 2nd of 2013 an Afghan man hanged in Khourin prison of Varamin.

According to the report of human rights activists and democracy in Iran website, Saturday, February 2nd of 2013 the prisoner Haj Mohammad Nourzehi who was 28 years old, hanged. He was been transferred to Khourin prison in Varamin from Ghezel Hesar prison after 7 years imprisonment and been in cell for four days before the execution.

On January 30th, the prison officials informed Haj Mohammad Nourzehi that his lawyer formed a complaint in court against him because he did not pay the lawyer and Haj Mohammad has to go with the prison officers to the court, but they transferred him to a cell in Khourin prison in Varamin.

Because of the protests in Afghanistan against the executions of Afghani people in Iran, now the Iranian official medias do not release the news of Afghani people executions and even the families of executed Afghanis are not allowed to take the cadavers back to Afghanistan legally and have to pay a lot to smuggle the cadavers of their family members who have been executed in Iran.

 

Imprisonment and monetary penalty for the eldest Baha’i citizen

HRANA News Agency – Southern Khorasan appealed decreased the Birjand revolutionary court from three years imprisonment to one year and fine for Mohammad Hossain Nakh’ie.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), southern Khorasan provincial appealed decreased the 3 years imprisonment verdict of Mohammad Hossain Nakh’ie, the Baha’i citizen who has 85 years old, to one year imprisonment and 6 million tomans fine.
Mohammad Hossain Nakh’ie has arrested since May 13th of 2012 by the Etela’at agents at his home in Khousef village and is in Birjand prison until now.
First this Baha’i citizen has sentenced to three years imprisonment by Birjand revolutionary court on charge of propaganda against regime.
 

IRAN: Over 32 Months in Solitary Confinement; Hamza Rigi, Baluch Political Prisoner

HRANA News Agency – It’s over 32 months that Hamza Rigi, Balouch political prisoner is being held in solitary confinement by Iranian regime.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hamza Rigi was arrested on charge of relating to Jondollah opposition group and was sentenced to death in the revolutionary court of Zahedan and his verdict has been confirmed.
Hamza Rigi also had been on hunger strike in protest of his verdict more than 25 days.
“Hamza Rigi was under 18 years old when he was arrested and his death sentence is against International Convention that Islamic Republic has signed it too. Hamza was tortured when he was arrested and most of his confessions was under the torture.”  one of his relatives told HRANA’s reporter.
 

Eight thousand tomans fee for visiting optician in clinic of Rajaie Shahr prison


HRANA News Agency – The clinic of Rajaie Shahr prison asked eight thousand tomans fee from the prisoners who need to update their spectacles degrees.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), recently the prisoners in Rajaie Shahr prison had to pay eight thousand tomans fee for visiting optician in the clinic of the prison.

Iran: Five Underground Musicians and Three Political Activists Arrested

HRANA News Agency – Security forces arrested five underground musicians and three political Activists.

According to the reports by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), three political civil activists: Ayat Mehr Ali Biglu in Soufian, Eastern Azarbayjan, Sirvan Hossein Panahi in Dehgolan and Mohammad Khatibi in Tabriz, were arrested by security forces.

And also,Iranian police have arrested five members of an underground band suspected of producing music for Farsi-speaking, dissident satellite channels based in the U.S.

HRANA News Agency – Mostafa Badkoobei, Writer and Poet, began serving his verdict in Evein prison from yesterday.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mostafa Badkoobei, Writer and Poet, who was arrested in 2010 and 2011 08 Jul 2012: Sentenced to 3 years prison, 5 years ban on public attendance and 3 million rials fine by judge Salavati in 15th branch of Tehran’s revolutionary court.

Davar Hosseini, Leftist Student Was Sentenced to Six Year in Prison


HRANA News Agency –  Davar Hosseini Vojdan, from Tehran and student at Isfahan’s Industrial University was sentenced to six year in prison.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), This student from Tehran was arrested on Monday, December 5, 2011 and being held several months in solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin Prison, then after four months  in an uncertainty situation in 350 General Ward, was sentenced to six year in prison by the 15th branch of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court in the summer of 2012.
There is no information about Hosseini’s charges.
