Ayat Mehrali Baiglou’s Parole Request Under Process
HRANA News Agency – Ayat Mehrali Baiglou has submitted his conditional release request to the judiciary and it is under process.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ayat Mehrali Baiglou, civil rights activist and prisoner of Tabriz prison has submitted a request for conditional release, and reports say that it is under process.
Need to be mentioned, previously the judiciary has rejected the parole request.
The 9-year-in prison sentence of this civil rights activist, has been reduced to 8 years after accumulation of the sentences.
As a reminder, Ayat Mehrali Baiglou, went to furlough only once, and just after his hunger strike. Ayat Mehrali Baiglou’s request in that hunger strike was to be transferred to Jolfa prison. But he was sent back to Tabriz prison after 45 days in Jolfa prison and using furlough.
Ayat Mehrali Baiglou was arrested in 2012 along with Mahmood Fazli, Shahram Radmehr, Latif Hasani, Behbood Gholizadeh and four other activists.
According to HRANA, the civil activist has been charged with being a member of central committee of Gamoh (political party), acts against the national security and propaganda against the regime.
Ayat Mehrali Baiglou had been arrested when he was a student activist in his house on May 10, 2010, in Soofian town and was transferred to Tabriz intelligence service detention centre.
This civil rights activist had also been arrested on the memorial ceremony of professor Zehtabi on December 12, 2002, and on Babak’s birthday in July 2004 and was sentenced to imprisonment. Ayat Mehrali Baiglou is the former managing editor of student newspaper of Ghopooz, and has received his master in management from Tarbiyat-Modares university of Tehran.
