HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, worker and political activist has been transferred from ward 209 of Evin Prison to the Quarantine section of Karaj Rajaee Shahr Prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Behnam Ebrahimzadeh has been imprisoned for the last 5 years and after further prosecution in January was sentenced to another 9.5 years imprisonment.
After the new verdict communicated to him, from the late January, security forces transferred him from Karaj Rajaee Shahr Prison for interrogations to ward 209 of Evin prison and during the last 28 days he has been banned from telephone call or visits from his family.
According to the report from a well informed source, on 16 February he was again transferred back to Karaj Rajaee Shahr Prison and at the moment is kept at Quarantine section.
A close relative of this prisoner told HRANA’s reporter about his health condition: “Behnam Ebrahimzadeh is in bad health condition .because of the tortures inside prison and his long hunger strikes in protest to the pressures put on him, his health has been severely damaged. Concern about his son who has been diagnosed with cancer has increased the pressure on Behnam Ebrahimzadeh as well.”
On 12 June 2010, he was arrested by security forces and initially was sentenced to 20 years in prison at Islamic Revolutionary Court but in the appeal court his sentence was reduced to 5 years. He is now serving the 4th year of his sentence.
