Four Executed in Esfahan Prison

HRANA- Four people were executed by hanging in Esfahan’s central prison on Tuesday morning.

According to the Esfahan province’s justice department these four individuals were charged and sentenced to death for “drug trafficking”. No further information, including the names of the individuals is known at this time.

Death of a prisoner in solitary confinement under torture in City of Karaj “Rajaie prison “

HRANA – Monday, April 11, 2011, the body of a prisoner who had killed under unbearable torture was transferred from solitary confinement in section 1 to the clinic of “Rajaie Prison” in city of Karaj.

According to The HRANA reporters, News Organizations for Human Rights Activists in Iran, on Monday the body of a prisoner named Javad Asgari who was imprisoned for financial charges (not paying the dowry), was taken to the prison Clinic in serious condition.

Families of Executed Political Prisoners Face Uncertainty

HRANA- Although forty days have passed since the executions of Farzad Kamangar, Ali Heydariyan, Farhad Vakili, Shirin Alam-Hooli and Mehdi Eslamiyan family members are still uncertain of where their bodies have been buried. It is reported that security forces have stepped up pressure on the families of the five executed political prisoners.

For the Lack of Medical Care, Mohsen Dokmechi Died

HRANA News Agency – It has been reported that last night, on March 28, 2011, the condition of Mohsen Dokmechi deteriorated, and due to lack of medical care, he died in hospital. Mohsen Dokmechi was a political prisoner in Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj, Tehran. Prior to his arrest, he was a well-known merchant in Tehran’s bazaar.

In mid March, having no hope for Mohsen Dokmechi to survive because his cancer had spread, doctors had said that he would die within one to three months.

Abdolmalek Rigi Has Been Executed

HRANA – Iran’s judiciary announced that Abdolmalek Rigi, leader of the militant opposition movement Jundollah, has been executed.

Abdolmalek Rigi, 27, was the founder and leader of the People’s Resistance Movement of Iran (Jundollah). He and another member of the group were arrested last March. He was found guilty of a number of charges including of being a “mohareb” by Judge Tohidi of Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Court because of the organizations armed attacks. He was hung early Saturday morning in Evin prison.

Secret execution of a Jewish-Armenian couple in Tehran’s Evin Prison

Hrana – At dawn on Monday March 14, 2011 a Jewish-Armenian couple along with one women and two other men were secretly executed.

According to the Iranian Christian News Agency “Mohabat News” and Based on reports from the human rights activists in Iran, the 28th divisional court of the Revolutionary Court, located inside the Evin prison, in confirming this execution refused to provide any further details about the surrender of the executed bodies of the prisoners.

Uncertain Condition of Ramin Parchami, a Prominent Film and Television Actor, in Evin prison

HRANA NEWS- Reports indicate that 40 days after detention of Ramin Parchami, a prominent film and television actor who had been arrested during protesting Rally on 25-Bahman,  his condition remains suspenseful.

Eyewitnesses have told HRANA Reporters that “Ramin Parchami”, a prominent actor, has been transferred to Evin Prison after his arrest on February14, 2011 (25-Bahman 1389).

13 Prisoners Executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison

HRANA – In the early hours of this morning, 13 prisoners were hanged in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj.

Based on information received by HRANA, 26 death-row inmates were transferred to the Quarantine area of Ghezel Hesar prison yesterday in preparation for the enforcement of their sentences.

Attorney Mohammad Mostafaiee alerted international media about the prisoners’ transfer in an interview yesterday. He had received the news from one of his clients.

Mr. Mostafaiee announced that the majority of the 26 prisoners had previously submitted petitions for pardon to the relevant tribunals, but their requests were rejected. According to Mr. Mostafaiee, some of the prisoners had no prior criminal history.

There is currently no information about the identities of the executed prisoners or their crimes. Government media outlets have not yet reported any of the details of today’s executions.

The majority of the 26 prisoners were sentenced to execution by the general and revolutionary courts for smuggling and distribution of narcotics. According to the Statistics, Publications and Evidence unit of Human Right Activists in Iran, with today’s executions, the total number of executions in Iran for the Iranian month of Khordad (May 22-June 21) reach 31.

 

Transfer of 50 Prisoners on Death Row From Ghezalhesar To Evin Prison

HRANA – Thursday, March 24th, 50 inmates of Ghezelhesar Prison located in Karaj, were transferred to Evin prison.

According to information of HRANA reporters, News Organizations for Human Rights Activists in Iran, it is believed that these 50 prisoners are accused of initiating riot in Ghezelhesar prison.

Evidently Authorities have transferred these prisoners, who have been sentenced to death, To Evin Prison for their sentence to be executed.
