The List of Women, Imprisoned on Charge of Muharebeh

HRANA News Agency – Prisoners who have been sentenced with the old penal code, now have a chance of retrial, reduction of sentence and even freedom. Currently, many prisoners, including at least 11 female prisoners have heavy sentences on the charge of Muharebeh. The following list, as the first list of “prisoners with Muharebeh charges”, is concentrated on these 11 female prisoners.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at least 11 female prisoners with Muharebeh charges are held in different prisons across the country and are serving heavy sentences. According to the new penal code and by changing the section about Muharebeh, they could ask for retrial. Many of them may find reduction in their sentences, and for some, due to a long time that they have already served there is a chance of being released. A Report about Sohail Arabi’s Situation in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Sohail Arabi is a prisoner of conscience who has been sentenced to 7 years and six months in prison and held in ward 350 of Evin prison since 2012. He had to spend his birthday on August 20 in prison, while judicial and prison authorities are rejecting his requests for parole and furlough.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), as Sohail Arabi’s death sentence was rejected last year, he was first sentenced to 90 months in prison and two years deprivation from religious activities and then to 78 months. Hashmat Tabarzadi’s Trial to Be Held on August 31

HRANA News Agency – Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court, has scheduled Hashmat Tabarzadi’s hearing to be held on August 31. He was accused of “gathering and colluding with intention to commit crimes against national security” and “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran”.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolution Court has scheduled Hashmat Tabarzadi’s hearing to be held on August 31 and it was notified to his lawyer, Mohammad Moghimi on August 21. Mohammad Amin Agoushi Ended His Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – Iraj Mohammadi and Mohammad Amin Agoushi, two security prisoners in Tabriz prison who had been transferred to solitary confinement following the hunger strike by sewing their lips, ended their hunger strike by the promise of prison authorities and were transferred to separate wards from solitary confinement on August 22.
According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Iraj Mohammadi and Mohammad Amin Agoushi, two security prisoner in Tabriz prison, had started a hunger strike with sewing their lips in protest against the “halting their furloughs, visits or telephone calls” on August 13 and were transferred to quarantine section of clergies ward by the order of Military Deputy Prosecutor of East Azerbaijan province, “Syed Mohsin Qureshi”. A Report about Sunni Prisoners in West Azerbaijan Province

HRANA News Agency – At least eleven Sunni civilians were arrested by the Intelligence Ministry about three months ago in Bokan and Mahabad. A number of them were recently released from prison. Some of them are still held in detention of Orumiyeh Intelligence Office and some of them have been transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison.

Mostafa Fathizadeh’s Case Sent to the Criminal Court of Khuzestan Province

HRANA News Agency – The court session of Mostafa Fathizadeh, journalist of Payk-e-Shooshtar newspaper was held in branch number 101 of criminal court of Shooshtar, and the judge announced incompetency of the court and sent the case to the criminal court of the province.

11 Sunni Prisoners Are Still at the Risk of Execution

HRANA News Agency – After the execution of at least 20 Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, fears and concerns about the fate of other prisoners in the prison with the similar charges and cases have increased. Among the death row prisoners of “Tohid and Jahad” case, only two prisoners, including a juvenile offender have survived from recent mass-executions of Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj. Due to unprecedented and unexpected recent mass-executions of Sunni prisoners they spend their days in fear of a similar death along 50 Sunni prisoners in the prison, 9 of whom have also been sentenced to death.

Siavash Koliaie Interrogated and Acquitted of the Charges

HRANA News Agency – On August 11, Siavash Koliaie, Yarsan activist was interrogated. In this meeting with the prosecutor the religious activist was acquitted of the accusation and was released afterwards.

Rahai Group Published the Persian Translation of Menstrupedia

HRANA News Agency – Rahai Group has translated and published a book entitled “Menstrupedia” under the slogan of “Towards a liberating education” as an active group in protecting children’s rights in Iran.
