Fatemeh Ziyaei is released from Evin prison

HRANA News Agency – Fatemeh (Houri) Ziyaei Azad, the political activist and former prisoner of 80s, is released from women`s ward of Evin prison last Thursday.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), this political prisoner, who has passed her jail time in a bad physical and health condition, due to her age and her MS disease, has been released on Thursday October 17 morning.

 

She had been arrested on June 8, by intelligence and security forces, on her house.

 

Fatemeh Ziyaei Azad (54 years old) is a former political prisoner who has spent 5 years, from 1981 to 1986, in Evin prison.

 

She was also arrested, for traveling to Iraq, in order to meet her two daughters, on January 21, 2009 and released after serving her two years conviction, on January 13 2010.

 

A source close to Fatemeh Ziyaei told HRANA’s reporter: “Again, Mrs. Ziyaei’s charge, was visiting her children.”

 

Needed to be mentioned, her husband, Mahmoud Azimi, is a famous political activist who has multiple arrests on his record.
