Four People Executed in Yazd Central Prison

HRANA – Four prisoners were executed in Yazd Central Prison in the early hours of Wednesday, May 26, 2010.

Based on information received by HRANA, the four executed prisoners had been sentenced to execution for narcotics smuggling by Branch 2 of the General Court and Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court. The prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement on Tuesday, May 25th, and their sentences were carried out the following morning.

Critically, the aforementioned prisoners had filed petitions for pardon and re-opening of their cases, which were still pending adjudication.

In addition, pursuant to the sentences issued by the General and Revolutionary Courts of the State of Yazd, all of the personal and real properties of these prisoners had already been confiscated by the judiciary.
