Habib Sasanian in an Undecided Condition in Tabriz Prison

HRANA News Agency – Habib Sasanian, poet from Ardabil, is still in an undecided condition, after 5 months since he has been arrested and imprisoned in central prison of Tabriz. No court has been assigned for his case and he has been deprived of effective antifungal therapy.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Habib Sasanian was arrested along with 5 other Azeri activists in Ardabil, on May 15.
A close source to Sasanian’s family told HRANA’s reporter, “Mr. Sassanian has contacted a family of his friends and said his leg was injured, and since his arrest, there had been a black spot on his leg which he says gets bigger every day. This disease which has made his mobility painful, has not been effectively treated in the prison and prison officials also refused to transfer him to the treatment center outside the prison.”
HRANA reported previously that after 5 months since his arrest, there was no court assigned for his case and it was still unknown why he had been arrested and what his allegations were.
An informed source also said, “Mr. Sasanian did not have any health issue prior to his arrest, but now he has progressing pain in his body and that has worried his family.”
Habib Sasanian was arrested along with Mehdi Javadzadeh, Hamid Saghafi, Babak Avand, Esmaeil Afkhami and Younes Rahimi.
The head of judiciary of East Azerbaijan province called these 6 people members of the espionage group of Gamou in June.
Mozafari claimed, “These people were gathering classified military and economical documents and provided them to enemies of the regime”.
