Hashmatullah Tabarzadi Arrested and Transferred to Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hashmatullah Tabarzadi, political activist was arrested by security forces while leaving home and was transferred to Evin prison. He also was questioned in Shahid Moghadas court in Evin prison. Tabarzadi’s family is concerned about the fake cases against him, and about his possible hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Hashmatullah Tabarzadi, political activist was arrested by the security forces, after leaving his house and was taken to an unknown location.
One person close to his family confirmed the news in an interview with HRANA’s reporter and said: “Mr. Tabarzadi went out of the house yesterday and his family had no news about him until the afternoon when they found out that he had been arrested in the street and was transferred to ward 209 of Evin Prison. However, Mr. Tabarzadi has not been allowed to contact his family and they have received this news from other sources.”
This informed source added: “Mr. Tabatzadi’s hearing was held in branch 2 of Shahid Moghadas court in Evin prison for two hours but his family has no news about the possible charges against him yet, however they know that he is held in uncertain condition now. Mr. Tabarzadi was arrested in the street with no charges. The reason for his arrest can be his interviews and activities in ‘livelihood campaign’”.
This source clarified at the end that: “Mr. Tabarzadi had said before that if he is arrested, he will go on hunger strike, and his family is concerned about this and his health condition. The other issue is that they are concerned about making new cases against him, by the security forces.”
Earlier, on “Charshanbeh Souri”, a summon letter was sent to Mr. Tabarzadi’s home by the Evin Court that he refused to take it and the summon officers had announced that he was not at home.
It is to say that Mr. Tabarzadi was released after nearly five and a half years imprisonment by applying Article 134 and integration of charges, from Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj on June 30, 2015.
Hashmatullah Tabarzadi is the Secretary of the Democratic Front of Iran and he has a number of arrests and more than 10 years imprisonment in his case. He was arrested at noon on December 28, 2008 and was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment.
This journalist had been previously the director of some publications such as “Payame Daneshjo”, “Nedaye Daneshjo”, “Hoviate Khish” and “Gozareshe Rooz”.
