HRANA News Agency – Hundreds of spectators were arrested by security forces during the match between Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia and Foolad from Khuzestan, Iran, at Alghadir stadium.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), during the football match between Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia and Foolad-e Khuzestan on 17th March, security forces attempted to arrest hundreds of spectators in groups.
An informed source told HRANA’s reporter: “At first, police forces arrested a number of participants who wore Dishdasha (Kind of Arabic costume). This action angered the people and it led to clashes between them and police forces and following the clashes, two police cars were set into fire.”
Also, the suicide of a Khuzestani peddler citizen, named Younes Asakereh, in protest to the municipality action in order to stop his business, increased the local people’s dissatisfaction.
