No Information about Political Prisoner, Mansour Arvand

HRANA News Agency – “Do not look for Mansour anymore”, is the only sentence that the family of Mansour Arvand has heard from Uremia intelligence service officers.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mansour Arvand has been transferred from Miyandoab prison to an unknown location without any prior notice, on the beginning of last week. It was guessed that he might have been transferred to Uremia intelligence service, but inquiries, not only authorities did not give any information, but they tried to convince the family to withdraw their search.
Besides, all of the personal accessories of Mansour Arvand that were left in Mahabad prison in previous transfer, is gathered and seized by Uremia intelligence service officers. Silence, evade and even threatening are the responses that Mansour Arvand’s family has found by now.
A close source to this political prisoner described the condition of Mansour Arvand’s family so: “since few days ago that telephone calls are cut and he has been transferred from Miyandoab prison, his family and lawyer contacted many places but they did not receive any information. After they have been told in Uremia intelligence service not to look for him anymore, they became even more concerned”.
The reason for frequent transfers of this prisoner is unknown, and with the consideration that he was on death row and waiting for the delayed verdict from the supreme court, this transfer and ignorance made his family very worried.
Less than a month ago, this prisoner was transferred from Mahabad prison to an unknown location and then to Miyandoab prison. His transfer to Miyandoab had created the notion that his sentence was reduced to life time prison. After multiple transfers and no publicized information, his current condition seems to be even more ambiguous.
Mansour Arvand was arrested by the order of branch number one of the revolutionary court of Mahabad, in his house in June 2011. He was charged with belligerence and cooperation with Kurdish parties and sentenced to death. He never accepted these allegations, and for this reason it was said that his death sentence is cancelled by the supreme court.
