Kamran Jafari under Pressure in Urmia Prison

HRANA News Agency – Kamran Jafari, political prisoner in Urmia prison, is under pressure by security agencies to take action to cooperate through a televised interview. The prisoner has given ultimatum that if they continue the pressure then he will go on hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Kamran Jafari, from Mahabad, political prisoner in Urmia prison is under pressure with bribes and threats by the security agencies to take action to cooperate through a televised interview.
An informed source, close to this political prisoner, by announcing this news in an interview with HRANA’s reporter, said: “The security forces from outside the prison went to prison to see him and offered him to release him if he cooperates with them through and put him under pressure to cooperate, on June 12. Following the pressures, Mr. Jafari has given ultimatum that if they continue the pressure then he will go on hunger strike.”
Kamran Jafari, citizen of Mahabad, was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment by Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court in Urmia with charges of connection with Kurdish opposition parties, in 2015.
The political prisoner’s sentence was commuted by the Appeal Court to three years imprisonment.
