At Least 977 Executions in Iran in 2015; Amnesty International

HRANA News Agency – Amnesty International reported that in 2015, the rate of executions in the world was the highest in the past 25 years and Iran, along with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have been announced as the countries with the highest number of executions.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Amnesty International has announced in a report that in 2015 at least 1634 people were executed in 25 countries. This figure has increased 50% over the previous year and in the last 25 years (since 1989) is unprecedented.

The report provided a blacklist of countries with a high number of executions. The majority of executions has happened in China, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Amnesty International by ignoring China where there is no exact number of executions, has announced that 90 percent of the executions have taken place in Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and these three countries have made the execution index in the world increase.
