More pressure on non-governmental publications

HRANA News Agency – “Kavir” publication is prohibited from taking part in Tehran book exhibition for the third year by the culture ministry.

According to a report by Jaras website, Kavir publications has been publishing books in Iran for more than 24 years including books of well-known Iranian authors like: Mohsen Kadivar, Ahmad Sadri, Hamid Reza Jalaipour, Hashem Aghajari, Reza Alijani, Morteza Kazemian, Salehi Najaf Abadi, Sorush Dabagh, Seyyed Hossein Modarresi Tabatabai.

Mohammad Javad Mozaffar, the establisher of the Kavir publications had been arrested after the 2009 elections in Iran and was in the solitaries of section 240 of Evin prison for 62 days. He was sentenced to one year of prison which he served in 2011 in section 350 of Evin prison.
