A political prisoner on hunger strike in Bandar Abbas prison

HRANA News Agency- Hassan Javani, an elder and sick political prisoner in Bandar Abbas, went on hunger strike in protest at his living condition in prison since 10 days ago.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), ten days ago, this 57 year old political prisoner in Bandar Abbas prison who is suffering from heart problems, prostate and hemorrhoid, was transferred in Bandar Abbas Central prison from ward 12 to ward 2 which is populous and has a poor sanitary condition, and went on hunger strike.
He started his hunger strike on Monday 12th May and considering his illnesses, he has inappropriate condition.
Hassan Javani has a record of arrests and long prison terms in the Eighties. He was arrested again in October 2011 with accusation of acting against national security and supporting one of the opposition groups and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the Revolutionary court branch 26 and the appeals court approved this verdict.
It should be mentioned that Mohammadreza (Meisam) Hoseini was tried for the same reason in the branch 26 and was convicted to two years expulsion imprisonment in Bandar Abbas Central Prison. He was released when he finished his sentence last October.
