HRANA News Agency – Thousands of prisoners in Rajai shahr prison in Karaj, are suffering from health and respiratory problems more than before. That is due to the lack of ventilation systems after the closure of fresh air to the Halls and rooms in this prison. In addition, during the recent months, prisoners have reported the spread of headaches and nausea among prisoners following the installation of a large number of parasite devices in the prison.
According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, is an old prison that has a population of several times more than its capacity.
Prisoners of this prison is also deprived of the minimum health facilities.
In recent months, the Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj has been the scene of the protests by prisoners against installing parasite devices to disrupt cell phone communications inside the prison.
Disturbance or “break-in” devices that attempt to disturb communications have increased the diseases among inmates. Many prisoners have reported headaches and nausea after these non-standard devices were enhanced.
The last time, while this prison lacks also the minimum health and hygiene standards, prison authorities have closed all the fresh air vents.
Prison authorities, by welding the windows and doors, virtually prevent fresh air from flooding.
These windows which were previously protected by strong shields, are completely overlooking the places supervised inside the prison, so it is not clear why they are closed.
