HRANA News Agency – Ramazan Ahmad Kamal, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr has started a hunger strike in protest to medical negligence.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ramazan Ahmad Kamal, the Syrian political prisoner has started a hunger strike since September 12 morning in protest to medical negligence.
This Syrian political prisoner started a hunger strike last March, following the infection in his right hand and the danger of losing it, in Ghazvin prison. He was then transferred to Rajaei Shahr prison. But the authorities of Rajaei Shahr prison are refusing to send him to the hospital with the excuse that the hospital have not made any appointments yet.
The right hand of this Syrian citizen got shot during the arrest, but the lack of proper medical treatments has caused his arm get weak and infected. Physicians suggested that being transferred to hospital and receiving comprehensive treatment is the only way of stopping the infection and saving the arm. But this has not happened yet.
Ramazan Ahmad Kamal was arrested in 2008, on charge of being a member in PKK and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He has been in the prisons of Makou, Ghazvin, Evin and Rajaei Shahr.
