A Report about Shahram Ahmadi’s Situation in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency- Shahram Ahmadi, death row Sunni prisoner, is experiencing very hard physical and mental condition at about his seventh year of his imprisonment in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Shahram Ahmadi who was shot during his detention time and has got problem with his kidney and bowel, so far, has been deprived of adequate treatment in prison and outside.

Shahram Ahmadi, was arrested on 26th April 2009, and after 33 months in solitary confinement, he was transferred to ward 350 of Evin Prison and then to Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj. He has been sentenced to death on charge of combat against the regime. His younger brother, Bahram Ahmadi, also was arrested and on 28th December 2011. He has been hanged along with five other prisoners in Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj.

His family lives in Sanandaj and because of the distance they have been deprived of weekly visits and during these six years of imprisonment, except few cases, Shahram Ahmadi has actually been denied of meeting with his family.

Although there is a lack of official information and clarification about cases such as Shahram Ahmadi’s case through Judiciary system and their solicitors and their accusations have been announced by the Judiciary system in general; combat through waging armed movements caused by Salafi thoughts, but these prisoners and their relatives deny the charges and state that issue Sunni promoting activities are the reason to issue those sentences.
