Saeid Madani Released from Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Saeid Madani, sociologist and writer who was imprisoned in ward number 7 of Evin prison, has been released on parole after 4 years and sent to Bandar Abbas to serve his exile sentence.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Saeid Madani is a sociologist researcher, political activist, member of National-Religious council, member of the committee to defend free elections, member of investigation and follow up committee for arbitrary arrests, and member of executive council of human rights. After 4 years in prison, he has been released on parole after the agreement of the authorities from ward number 7 of Evin prison, in order to serve his exile sentence in Bandar Abbas.
This political prisoner who was transferred to ward 209 in Evin prison, later was sentenced to a three-and-half-year-sentence on January 20, 2012. After one year interrogations and being kept under pressure, he was sent to ward number 350. He was transferred to hall number 12 of Rajaei Shahr prison, and also ward number 7, due to his activities as an attorney of the prisoners and following prisoners’ demands, in February 2014.
He had been sentenced illegally to 6 years in prison and 2 years in exile during a recently fabricated case which was added to his first sentence.
He has been a political prisoner in 1994, 2000, and 2001 and spent his life inside the prison since 2011. He has published many articles about poverty, inequality, addiction, child abuse, violence against women, prostitution, social welfare and other themes.
