Saeid Matinpour Transferred To Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Saeid Matinpour, imprisoned journalist, was transferred from central prison of Zanjan to Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on Tuesday 15 May, Saeid Matinpour, was unexpectedly transferred back into the quarantine of Evin Prison and, according to the reports, he will be transferred from the quarantine to ward 7 of Evin prison.
Saeid Matinpour was transferred from ward 350 of Evin prison to the central prison of Zanjan, for unknown reasons on 28th September last year and was kept there for seven months.
Saeid Matinpour, civil activist and philosophy graduate of Tehran University, was arrested on 25th May 2009 on charges of propaganda against the regime and communicate with aliens and by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, presided by judge Salvati, was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.
This Turkish-speaking journalist, was a member of the editorial board of “Yarpagh” and “Moje Bidari” magazines, and also has been co-operating with the local newspapers in Azerbaijan.
