HRANA – Salam (Shahin) Azari, a resident of Naqadeh, was arrested by security forces in the city and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, citing Kurdpa, Salam (Shahin) Azari was arrested in Naqadeh.

According to the report, Mr. Azari was arrested at his workplace on Sunday, August 23, without the presentation of a judicial warrant. His arrest was reportedly accompanied by violence by security forces.

As of the time of this report, no information has been obtained regarding the reasons for his arrest, his place of detention, or the charges brought against him.

In January 2025, Salam Azari was sentenced by Branch 1 of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court to one year and six months in prison. He had previously been arrested by security forces in Naqadeh in November 2023 and was ultimately released on bail in February 2024.
