Shima Babai Arrested in Tehran

HRANA News Agency – Shima Babai, civil activist, was arrested at her house by the Revolutionary Guards and was taken to ward 2-A of the IRGC in Evin prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Shima Babai, daughter of Ebrahim, student and civil activist was arrested in the night of May 26, and was taken to Evin prison.

A close source to this civil activist confirmed the news in an interview with HRANA’s reporter and said: “Last night at 11.30 when Babai family was at dinner the officers entered the house”.

The source continued: “The agents searched the house for 2 and a half hours and took Shima’s all mobile phones, personal belongings, including electronic gadgets, a number of books and personal notebooks”.

At the end he emphasized that: “The officers referred Babai family to Branch 3 of Shahid Moghadas court”.

It should be reminded that Shima Babai’s father, Dr. Ebrahim (Nader) Babaei Zeidi, had been detained during the protests against the results of the tenth presidential elections and was sentenced to 6 years and 9 months imprisonment by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. He endured 5 years of imprisonment in Evin prison in Tehran and Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.
