Shima Babai Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Shima Babai, civil rights activist was released from Evin prison on the bail of 1 billion IRR.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Shima Babai, civil rights activist, was released from ward 2-A in Evin prison on the bail on June 1st.

Ms. Babai was arrested by the IRGC forces in her house at 11:30 pm on May 25, and was transferred to ward 2-A in Evin prison.

HRANA had previously reported that the security forces had investigated the house for two hours and all of the cell phones and personal accessories, including all of the electronic devices, books and leaflets were seized by them.

Need to be mentioned, Shima Babai’s father, Dr. Ibrahim (Nader) Babai Zeidi, was arrested during the protests to 2009 presidential elections, and by branch number 26 of the revolutionary court was sentenced to 6 years and 9 months in prison. For this sentence, he served 5 years in Evin and Rajaei Shahr prisons.
