Six Sunni prisoners are in the 8th day of hunger strike

HRANA News Agency – Physical condition of two prisoners who went on hunger strike is reported to be very concerning but due to unreasonable behavior of authorities they refuse to go to infirmary.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), six Sunni prisoners of conscientious of Ghezelhesar prison who are sentenced to death have gone on hunger strike since Monday, November 4.

 

These prisoners are, Hamed Ahmadi (the son of Habibollah – born on 1981), Kamal Molayi (the son of Ahmad – born on 1984), Jamshid Dehghani (the son of Khodarahm – born on 1985), Sadigh Mohammadi (the son of Hossein – born on 1986) and Seyed Hadi Hosseini (the son of Mohiyoddin – born in 1983), and went to hunger strike in response to prison authorities decision, regarding their transfer by commencing Moharam month.

 

Prison authorities instead of addressing their request, used excessive forces and prison guards and sent them to solitary confinement on Wednesday November 6.

 

An informed source said to HRANA reporter: “five of those Sunni prisoners are still on hunger strike in solitary confinement. During last days, once, prisoners were taken to infirmary, and when they were taken back to their cells, they made naked and have been asked to do some inexpressible things. Because of that, Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Molayi, Jamshid Dehghani, Jahangir Dehghani and Sadigh Mohammadi have decided not to go no to infirmary for checking their vital signs.”

 

“Physical condition of Hame Ahmadi and Jamshid Dehghani is very serious and they have stomach bleeding”. He continued.

 

These six prisoners, before theirs transfer to solitary confinement, in a letter asked for a fair and open re-trial. Besides, they asked to be transferred to Rajaei Shahr prison of Karaj, in order to be close to other Sunni prisoners and having the right to use their religious books.
