Sahand Nourmohammadzadeh’s Sentence Confirmed by Supreme Court

Shargh Newspaper reports that Sahand Nour-Mohammadzadeh’s lawyer, Hamed Ahmadi, has disclosed that the Supreme Court has upheld a six-year prison sentence and ten years of exile for his client. Nourmohammadzadeh’s initial death sentence was commuted to imprisonment following a retrial.

Ahmadi explains that the enforcement of ten years of exile will depend on the application of Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code. Otherwise, Nourmohammadzadeh will serve the entirety of his prison sentence.

Nourmohammadzadeh has been exiled to Kahnuj, Kerman province, for charges of “enmity against God (Moharebeh).” Additionally, he has been sentenced to five years in prison for “assembly and collusion against national security” and one year in prison for “disturbing public order.” The Supreme Court overturned the initial death sentence and referred the case to Branch 26 for review.

4 Executed Sunni Prisoners Explain Their Cases / Video Footage

HRANA News Agency – At least 20 Sunni prisoners were executed by hanging in Rajaei Shahr prison, all of whom were charged with membership or cooperation with Tohid and Jihad group. These prisoners were arrested about 8 years ago. Jahangir Dehghani, Jamshid Dehghani, Kamal Moulayi and Hamed Ahmadi were four prisoners that had a chance to publish what their case was made of and what they were accused of. HRANA had published this video in 2013, but due to importance of clarification about the process of these cases, we publish this video again.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on August 4, the Intelligence Ministry published a statement about the case that is famous as Tohid and Jihad and by giving some explanations accused them to have ties with terrorist activities. The Families of Sunni Prisoners Prohibited from Burring Them

HRANA News Agency – After the execution of six Sunni prisoners, their bodies were not given to their families some of whom had traveled from far distances to Rajai Shahr, in Karaj, even after hours of waiting and confusion, and, despite their legitimate requests, just one representative of each family was allowed to see their loved ones’ bodies to identify them and the other members of families and relatives were prevented from attending Bibi Sakineh Cemetery for their children’s funeral ceremony.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), after the execution of Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Molaei, Jamshid Dehghani, Jahangir Dehghani, Sadiq Mohammadi and Seyed Hadi Hosseini, Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, their families who had gathered in front of the prison the night before, demanded their loved ones’ bodies who had been executed, to take their bodies to their home city for interment, however, they were confounded from 4am to 4pm as the authorities did not give a clear respond, and  eventually, authorities told them that they could not take their bodies to their cities and they would be buried in cemetery of Bibi Sakineh, due to the security system’s decision. 6 Sunni Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Molai, Jamshid Dehghani, Jahangir Dehghani, Sedigh Mohammadi and Seyed Hadi Hosseini were executed this morning in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj.

HRANA News Agency – Although the authorities transferred 6 Sunni prisoners to solitary confinements spontaneously, human rights activists are doing their best to convince the authorities to halt their execution.

HRANA News Agency – The families of 6 death row Sunni prisoners have gathered in front of Rajai Shahr Prison. At the same time the doors of all halls are locked and special forces are placed in the main corridor of prison.

21 Prisoners to Be Executed in Alborz Province by Tomorrow Morning

HRANA News Agency – 15 death row prisoners of Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj have been taken to solitary confinements. Considering 6 Sunni prisoners who are scheduled to be executed tomorrow, 21 prisoners are going to be executed in Alborz Province by the next dawn.

6 Sunni Prisoners Scheduled to Be Executed by Tomorrow Morning

11 Sunni prisoners at risk of imminent execution

HRANA News Agency – Eleven Sunni prisoners were transferred to the Implementation of Sentences section in Rajai Shahr prison on 5 November 2014 and interrogated by prison officials, leading to concerns that the men could face execution soon.

Four Sunni prisoners announce end to hunger strike

HRANA News Agency – Four Sunni prisoners awaiting execution in Iran announced an end to their hunger strike after 39 days without food, after being returned to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj yesterday.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the men, Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Molayee, Jahangir Dehghani and Jamshed Dehghani began their hunger strike on 14 June 2014 after they were transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj in order for their execution to be carried out.
