Specialist Orders Hussein Ronaghi Maleki to be Treated in a Hospital out of Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hussein Ronaghi Maleki, ill prisoner in Evin prison is on the 19th day of hunger strike in protest to his situation. He was medically examined by the specialist in the clinic of Evin prison and the doctor has ordered him to be hospitalized in a hospital out of prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), by the request of the prison authorities, a doctor came to the prison clinic and after the examination called for sending Hussein Ronaghi Maleki to a hospital outside the prison for treatment.
A close person to Maleki’s family by announcing this news said in an interview with HRANA’s reporter: “According to Hussein the prison authorities brought a specialist and have examined Hussein. He was medically examined by the specialist in the clinic of Evin prison and the doctor has ordered him to be hospitalized in a hospital out of prison. Hussein’s Mother described Hussein’s condition very serious at the last meeting, so that he was very skinny and mother of Hussein became shocked be seeing  this scene.”
Finally he said: “Parents of Hussein will return to Malekan today and on Saturday they will go to Tehran for follow-up. His family is hoping that on Saturday by the prosecutor’s order Hussein will be released or be sent to a medical leave.”
It should be noted that Ahmed Ronaghi Maleki also is on the 5th day of hunger strike for getting his son’s rights and announced that he would be on strike till freedom of Hussein.
Hussein Ronaghi Maleki, human rights activist and blogger, was arrested on December 13, 2009.
Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court sentenced him to 15 years in prison on October 5, 2010 after 10 months of detention in ward 2-A of Evin prison. The charges against him in the court were, “membership in the Iran proxy network, insulting the leader and insulting the president.”
The verdict was upheld by Branch 54 of the Appeals Court and Hossein Ronaghi was then transferred to Ward 350 of Evin prison.
The prisoner is now held in ward 7 of Evin prison against the principle of separation of offenses, without medical care and in poor conditions.
