On Saturday, August 31, Mahim Askani, a resident of Rask County, was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location, according to Haal Vsh.

The individual has been identified as Mahim Askani, father of two, and a resident of a village in the Pishin district of Rask County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Mr. Askani was reportedly arrested by IRGC Intelligence forces on the morning of Saturday, August 31, 2024, at his shop.

So far, no information has been obtained regarding the reasons for his arrest or his current whereabouts.

According to data collected by the Department of Statistics and Publication of HRA in 2023, Sistan and Baluchestan Province accounted for 5.63% of reported human rights violations, including instances of arbitrary detentions.
