Imam of Friday Prayer in Rask Apprehended by Security Forces

Fathi Mohammad Naghshbandi, the Imam of Friday Prayer in Rask, has been arrested by security forces on August 20, according to a report by Rasank News.

Naghshbandi’s arrest reportedly occurred during his journey from Rask to Chah Bahar. Agents from both the IRGC intelligence and the Ministry of Intelligence allegedly coordinated with the Chah Bahar oil company to summon Naghshbandi to Chah Bahar under the pretext of collecting his fuel allocation for his vehicle and his family members. Subsequently, security forces intercepted and detained him along the route.

The exact location where Naghshbandi is being held remains undisclosed. The nature of the charges against him has yet to be revealed.

It’s worth noting that Naghshbandi had previously received summons from judicial authorities, indicating a prior interaction with legal proceedings.

Dozen of People Arrested in Rask

On June 23, 2023, in Rask, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, dozens of individuals attending Friday Prayer were arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Haal Vsh, in Rask, about 50 people coming from nearby villages to attend Friday prayer and following march were arrested.

The identities of those detained remain unknown, and the reasons for their arrests, as well as the allegations involved, are currently shrouded in uncertainty.

Hafez Omar Askani Arrested in Rask

On April 12, 2023, security forces arrested Hafez Omar Askani in Rask County and took him to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on April 12, 2023, quoting Haal Vsh, 25-year-old Hafez Omar Askani was arrested by security forces in Rask County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Security forces reportedly arrested Askani at his workplace and did not show any arrest warrant.

Askani’s location and the allegations against him are still unknown.

 

Sunni Hossein Askani Arrested in Rask

On April 2, 2023, security forces arrested Sunni citizen Hossein Askani in Rask and took him to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on April 2, quoting the Baloch Activists Campaign, Hossein Askani was arrested in Rask, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

20-year-old Askani reportedly was apprehended by IRGC forces while returning from a religious school along with several other students.

The report speculates that his arrest is related to his activities in the religious group Tablighi Jamaat. (Society of Preachers)

Askani’s detained location is still unknown.
