Abbas Lesani and 11 other Prisoners on Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – Abbas Lesani, Turk (Azeri) activist who has been exiled to Adel-Abad prison in Shiraz, started a hunger strike in protest to preventing him from being released and fabricating a new case for him. At the same time, 11 other political prisoners started hunger strike in solidarity with him.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Abbas Lesani, Turk (Azeri) activist, who is being kept in Adel Abad prison of Shiraz in exile, was supposed to be released on May 18, but it was prevented due to a new case that has been opened for him. 5 Civil Activists Sentenced To Imprisonment And Lashes In Ardabil

HRANA News Agency – The sentences of three months imprisonment and thirty lashes of 5 civil activists in Ardabil were confirmed by the appeal court. Tohid Amiramini, Saleh Pichganlo, Maisam Julani, Mostafa Parvinjoda and Morteza Parvinjoda were arrested during a football match and after picking up a placard demanding the freedom of a political prisoner.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), these activists picked up a placard on which they had written: “Abbas Lesani, Azerbaijani activist must be released” during a football match between “Shahrdari Ardebil” and “Aluminum Hormozgan”.
