HRANA News Agency – With the identities of two more inmates confirmed, the number of individuals executed on Monday, May 12, in Arak Prison has risen to three.
In addition to the execution of Jalil Azizi, who had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges, the death sentences of two other inmates were also carried out. HRANA has confirmed their identities as Mohammad Abdi and Nemat Piri, both from Lorestan Province. Abdi and Piri had also been previously arrested and sentenced to death on drug-related charges.
As of the time of this report, prison authorities and relevant institutions have not publicly announced the executions.

In 2024, according to 812 reports compiled by HRANA, the Iranian regime executed 930 individuals in its prisons—marking the highest number of executions in the past 12 years. Despite the scale of these executions, prison officials and other relevant authorities publicly acknowledged only 6% of them, highlighting the regime’s lack of transparency and accountability.
