2 Political Prisoners of Urmia Prison Transferred to Mahabad Prison

HRANA News Agency – Alireza Rasooli and Khezr Rasool Morovat were transferred to Mahabad prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on 3rd April, two political prisoners named Alireza Rasooli and Khezr Rasool Morovat were transferred from the prison of Urmia to prison of Mahabad.
Alireza Rasooli has been sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment for cooperation with one of the Kurdish parties, while, according to his close relatives, Alireza had been arrested after the gathering to support the students of Sheenabad, in front of “Department of Education” in Mahabad.
Khezr Rasool Morovat, literature postgraduate and former student activist, was also arrested in early March 2012, and was sentenced to five years imprisonment by the court. Previously, he was arrested in August 2008 and by the Revolutionary Court in Mahabad, had been sentenced to three years imprisonment and five years of suspended imprisonment.
