3 Civil Rights Activists Arrested in Khoy

HRANA News Agency – Three civil activists in Khoy city were arrested on 17th February, by security forces.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on the morning of Tuesday 17th February, security officers in the city of Khoy went to the business office of Mr. Islam Ali Akbarloo and arrested him along with Araz Khasetarash and Amin Hajilo and took them to an unknown place.
An informed source told HRANA reporter, “After the officers arrested these civil activists, they searched Islam Ali Akbarloo’s workplace and seized his computer and personal belongings.”
This source added, “Their family’s pursue regarding the reason of their detention, did not lead to any results and the security officers refused to provide any information about the arrest of these civil activists.”
According to one of the relatives of the detainees, this is likely that their arrest is related to the celebration of international day of mother tongue in Khoy.
It is to say, Islam Ali Akbarloo has been repeatedly threatened and detained by security officials and on 26th October 2011, he was arrested during a funeral of a civil activists in Khoy, and after eleven days in prison, he was released on a bail of 100 million Rials.
