Air pollution costs 8 billion Dollars for Iran annually

HRANA News Agency – The administrator of the company of controlling Tehran’s air quality, air pollution costs Iran 8 billion Dollars each year.

Yusef Rashid said: “We have a lot of rules which are not held in this case. The air pollution costs Iran 8 billion Dollars annually and kills 4 to 5 thousand people.”

This is in a condition that the rate of some contaminants is in a critical point. For example Asbestos is 50% more than the standard rate.

He said: “The suspended particles which are less than 2.5 and 10 Microns are so high in the air of Tehran that most of the days the air is in a dangerous condition. We had 146 days of critical air condition during last year.”
