A Report about 3 Imprisoned Activists of the Right to Education

HRANA News Agency – Navid Khanjani, Ighan Shahidi, and Vahed Kholosi, three Baha’is and defenders of the right to education, who had been arrested between 2009 and 2010, by the security forces, are still in Rajai Shahr prison for their peaceful activities within the framework of claiming the right to education, especially for young Baha’is, who are deprived of education.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Navid Khanjani, Ighan Shahidi, and Vahed Kholosi, three defenders of the right to education, are enduring their imprisonment sentences in political prisoners’ ward in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj. Manijeh Fatehi Released on the Bail after 7 Months of Detention

HRANA News Agency – Manijeh Fatehi, 22, student from Bokan, who had been held in detention of Intelligence Office in the cities of Bokan, Mahabad, and Urmia, since February, was released temporarily till her court hearing, on a bail of 1500 million IRR, from Mahabad Intelligence Detention.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Manijeh Fatehi, daughter of Bahman, a 22-year-old student from Bokan after more than seven months in solitary confinement in detention centers of Intelligence service in Bukan, Mahabad and Urmia, was released on a bail of 1500 million IRR on October 17, 2016. At Least 47 Bahai’s Deprived of Higher Education

HRANA News Agency – At least 47 Baha’is in different cities of Iran in were banned from continuing their education in the universities under the pretext of “defect in application”. Following will be the list of these Baha’is.

HRANA News Agency – Mehrdad Zehni Miandoab, Baha’i resident of Miandoab, for the third consecutive year has been denied of continuing his education after the exam results of 2016 was released.

Seraj Azadi Deprived of Higher Education

HRANA News Agency – Like every year along with the results of exams to enter the universities, there are some reports indicating exclusion of Baha’is from higher education due to their religious beliefs. Seraj Azadi, young Baha’i resident of Abadan, is one of the most recent examples of this exclusion and has been prohibited from continuing his education.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Seraj Azadi, born in 1998, a Baha’i resident of Abadan faced with “defect in application”, like many other Baha’i students, after the announcement of exam results of national tests and so the opportunity to enroll and continue his education has been taken away from him. Political Prisoners’ Hall in Rajai Shahr Prison Caught Fire

HRANA News Agency – Hall 12 of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj caught fire after the authorities “were welding to seal the windows”. A number of prisoners of this hall had trouble breathing and were hospitalized in the clinic, following the accumulation and concentration of the smoke.

Participants in Reyhaneh Jabbari’s Execution’s Anniversary Arrested

HRANA News Agency – Sholeh Pakravan, Mohammad Noorizad and several other participants in the anniversary of execution of Reyhaneh Jabbari were arrested by the security forces and the ceremony was stopped.

A Prisoner in Critical Condition Because of Psychological Pressures in Ghezelhesar Prison

HRANA News Agency – Majid Keshvari, a prisoner with mental illness in Ghezelhesar prison, who had committed suicide, is again on the verge of suicide because of the complexity of his situation. The prison’s psychiatrist had prescribed medications and tablets due to Mr. Keshvari’s severe depression, but prison officials denied him the medication delivery. On the other hand they prevented his transfer to the hall where the prisoners are monitored by doctors. In the prison computer his attempt to suicide has been recorded as “food poisoning” and his family’s complaint to the Prisons General Directory Office has not had any outcome yet.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Majid Keshvari is one of the 12 prisoners who were accused of “rebellion” in 2010 in Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj.
