HRANA News Agency – Six Kurdish Citizens Were Sentenced prison in Mahabad city by the Appeals Court.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), quoted from Mokerian News Agency, six Kurdish citizens in Mahabad, Iran: Samko Osmani, Ali Borna, Osman Ghader Nejad, Soleyman Rahimzadeh, Anvar Izad Doust and Mohamad Izad Doust on charges related to National Security were sentenced to prison by the Appeals Court.
Soleyman Rahimzadeh were sentenced to 4 year in prison, Ali Borna an Osman Ghader Nejad 4 years for each, Anvar and Mohamad Izad Doust, 4 year for each and Samko, 1.5 year.

HRANA News Agency – Amnesty International; An Iranian man, Gholamreza Khosravi Savajani, is scheduled to be executed on 10 September, on the charge of “enmity against God” (moharebeh) for his alleged support of a banned Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI).
Blogger Rojin Mohammadi Arrested Upon Arrival
HRANA News Agency – Blogger Rojin Mohammadi was arrested after returning to Iran and was then transferred to Evin Prison.Rojin Mohammadi is a medical student at the University of Manila (UM) in Philippines.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on November 14, 2011, Rojin Mohammadi flew from Istanbul to Tehran.Upon arriving at the airport, she was arrested by Iranian security agents and taken to Evin Prison.
Rojin Mohammadi was released on bail after being detained for 24 hours.Five days later, on November 19, 2011, security agents raided her father’s house in Kermanshah in order to arrest her again.However, since she was not home at the time of the raid, the police failed to take her into custody.
On November 21, 2011, Rojin Mohammadi was summoned by phone to Shahid Moghadasi Court in Evin Prison, and her personal belongings including a computer were confiscated.She was interrogated for 3 consecutive days and finally arrested again on November 23, 2011 and locked up behind bars in Evin Prison.
So far, Iranian officials have not announced the reason for this arrest or the charges against Rojin Mohammadi.Furthermore, the exact location of the arrest and the length of detention aren’t precisely known.

Labor Activist Ali Nejati Sentenced to One Year in Prison
HRANA News Agency – The Ahvaz Appeals Court, Branch 13, has sentenced Ali Nejati to one year in prison.Ali Nejati is one of the board members of Haft Tapeh Sugarcane Company Workers’ Trade Union.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), this verdict is handed down despite the fact that Ali Nejati has already served six months in the Fajr Prison of Dezful for the same charge.While he was in prison, Ali Nejati was summoned to court to be tried again on charges for which he was behind bars.
According to a report by the website of the Coordinating Committee to Create Labor Organizations, after Ali Nejati’s prison term was over, prosecutors attempted to try him again, but the charges were dismissed by the court since they were repetitive.
After the acquittal, because of the prosecutor’s objection and pressure from intelligence officials, Ali Nejati’s case was once again referred to the appeals court at the provincial capital.
About three years ago, Ali Nejati was fired from his job at Haft Tapeh Sugarcane Company after working there for over 25 years.Consequently, he has also been suffering financially and has lost the means to support himself.Ali Nejati suffers from heart problems and the clogging of arteries.After his most recent heart surgery, he has been receiving medical care for several months.
Satellite Dishes Confiscated in Salmas County
HRANA News Agency – In an attempt to confiscate and collect all satellite dishes, Iranian security and police forces have harassed citizens throughout Salmas County and the surrounding areas in West Azerbaijan Province.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Iranian security forces in Salmas County have been entering homes without legal warrants, invading citizens’ privacy and harassing them for over a month.Additionally, a number of citizens have been arrested for owning a satellite dish and sentenced to one month in prison while others have been forced to pay cash fines ranging from $100 to $1,000.
No News of Political Prisoner Farshid Abdollahi After One Year
HRANA News Agency – Although one year has passed since Farshid Abdollahi was detained, there has been absolutely no news of him during this time.His current condition and whereabouts remain unknown.Farshid Abdollahi was one of the students expelled from the Azad University of Tehran, Imam Hussein Complex.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on August 10, 2010, Farshid Abdollahi was arrested in Imam Khomeini Airport when he attempted to enter Iran from the United Arab Emirates.Farshid Abdollahi’s family didn’t know that he was arrested for the first four months of his incarceration.Six months after his arrest, Farshid Abdollahi was permitted to contact his family for the first time.In another phone conversation, Farshid Abdollahi complained about his condition and the place where he was being held.
Thus far, Iranian officials have refused to give clear answers about Farshid Abdollahi’s condition or whereabouts.
In 2005, Farshid Abdollahi was expelled from the Azad University of Tehran because of his political activities.After his dismissal, He subsequently moved to Dubai and lived there for a few years.
A Runaway Girl Killed by Her Brother
HRANA News Agency – On May 29, 2011, the detectives at Bandar-Abbas Police Department in Hormozgan Province were dispatched to a young woman’s house where they found her lifeless body.Upon arriving at the house, the criminal team determined that blunt force trauma to head killed Nazanin.Further investigation revealed that persons unknown entered her house easily and murdered her in her sleep.Additionally, since there was no evidence of robbery, it was determined that in all likelihood, revenge was the motive for this crime.
During ensuing investigations, one of Nazanin’s brothers told the police, “My family and I live in the city of Kahnouj.A few days ago, my sister, Nazanin, contacted us and said that an anonymous caller had threatened to kill her.”
Subsequently, since police officers were suspicious of her brother’s statement, they detained him for further questioning during which he identified his other brother as the killer.Immediately, a team of detectives were dispatched to Kahnouj to carry out a surprise attack against the accused.
Upon arrest, the suspect, Amir, confessed to the crime and told the investigators, “My sister’s lifestyle and behavior dishonored our family.For this reason, I decided to kill her.On Sunday, May 29, 2011, I went to her house at around 11:00am, but she was still sleep.Then, I hit her with a picnic gas canister repeatedly until she died.Of course, she was a runaway and must have been killed.”
After his confession, the accused was charged with murder and sent to prison.

According to the reports by statistics unit, of publishing and writings of Iranian Human Rights Activists , the different branches of revolutionary courts (preliminary) collectively have issued four and half centuries of imprisonments for 189 individuals. In addition to these sentencing, 2 individuals have been sentenced to death.
