Azerbaijani Christians Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Three Christian citizens of Azerbaijan and their Iranian hosts were released temporarily on the bail.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), three members of the Christian church in Baku who had been invited to a house church by a group of Christians from Tehran and were arrested by intelligence officers, were released on the bail on November 7, 2016.
On June 24, 2016, three Christian members of a church in Baku were arrested at the house church of an Iranian Christian located at second phase of Andishe town in Karaj and transferred to an unknown location.
The names of the arrested Azerbaijani citizens:

  1. Bahram Nasibof Elkhanoglu, 37, Married, from Baku, citizen of Azerbaijan.
  2. Yusof Farhadof Taltoglu, 52, Married, from Baku, citizen of Azerbaijan.
  3. Eldar Kurbanov, 48, Married, from Baku, citizen of Azerbaijan.

At the same time a dozen Iranian Christian converts were arrested in the same house church, all of whom except one were released after questioning and taking their personal details.
Three detained Christian citizens of Azerbaijan who are members of the “Word Life” Church in Baku, had been invited to a house church by a group of Christians from Tehran to become familiar with other Christians in Tehran, Iranian Christian convert, “Naser Navard Goltape” 45, was the fourth arrested person who was released on November 7.
