Atena Daemi’s Family Members Tried in Evin Court

HRANA News Agency – The trial of three members of Atena Daemi’s family was held in Shahid Moghadas Court in Evin Prison. Two sisters and one of the brothers in law of this family attended the hearing. According to the interrogator, the brother in law was acquitted and Atena’s two sisters were released on the bail after being charged.

A Comprehensive List of Prisoners Charged with Muharebeh in Iran; 168 Prisoners

HRANA News Agency – According to the changes related to Moharebeh (waging war against god) in the New Islamic Penal Code, those who have been convicted of Moharebeh based on the previous penal code, will now have the possibility for a retrial, commutation and release. Currently there are 168 prisoners including 11 female prisoners in Iranian prisons whom are convicted of Moharebeh for different reasons and have are sentenced to long imprisonment or death. The following is a comprehensive list of “Prisoners charged with Moharebeh”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), currently there are 168 prisoners including 11 female prisoners in Iranian prisons whom are convicted of Moharebeh for different reasons and are sentenced to long imprisonment or death. According to the changes in regards of Moharebeh in the new Islamic Penal Code, these prisoners could apply for retrial. Many of them could receive commutations and reach their release soon and considering the long prison terms of some of them, it could provide them the possibility of being release. HRANA News Agency – The prisoners who have been convicted on charges of Muharebeh under the old law, have the possibility of a retrial, commutation of their sentences or being released, with regard to the changes on these kinds of charges in the IPC. At the moment, dozens of prisoners, including at least twenty-four male prisoners in Iran prisons have been sentenced to death on charge Muharebeh. The current below is the sixth list of the series of “Prisoners accused of Muharebeh” about these 24 imprisoned men.

According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), there are at least twenty four male death row prisoners who have been charged with Muharebeh, in different ways, are being held in Iran prisons. HRANA News Agency – At least 16 prisoners, on charges of drug related crimes, armed robbery, and murder, were hanged in two prisons.

Human Rights organisations, earlier, had urged Iranian government to stop the execution of prisoners of drug related offences.

HRANA News Agency – Karim Chaichian was released from Maragheh prison. Mehdi Kokhian, other detainee of this case, is still held in this prison. These two prisoners had gone on hunger strike by sewing their lips, after being transferred to the prison. Mehdi Kokhian is still on hunger strike.

Mohammad Amin Agoshi Held in the Quarantine of Tabriz Prison Since 4 Month Ago

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Amin Agoshi, security prisoner in Tabriz Central Prison, has been held in the quarantine ward of this prison, since four months ago in an undecided condition. Mr. Agoshi suffers from “shortness of breath, back pain and kidney disease”. Lack of coordination among relevant judiciary bodies is preventing the order of parole and his transfer from the temporary ward.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), a close source to Mohammad Amin Agoshi, after announcing this news, in an interview with HRANA’s reporter said: “Once they say that they have requested amnesty for him, once they said the parole had been accepted but the prison did not implement it. The prison said it was the court’s fault. Tabriz court blames Urmia court. Urmia court blames Tabriz court. Shahnaz Akmali Arrested and Taken to an Unknown Location

HRANA News Agency – Shahnaz Akmali, mother of Mostafa Karim Beigi, who was killed during the protests in 2009, was arrested at her house by the security forces. Security forces seized her belongings after they inspected her house.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Shahnaz Akmali was arrested by the plainclothes forces and was taken to an unknown location, in the early morning on January 25, 2017.

A close source to Karim Beigi family told HRANA’s reporter: “5 to 6 plainclothes agents raided Mrs. Akmali’s house and inspected it and then seized all her belongings including electronic devices and took them.”

Shahnaz Akmali is Mostafa Karim Beigi’s mother, who was killed during the protests in January, 2009.

Mostafa Karim Beigi was shot in the head, around Neauphle-le-Château Street in Tehran. Although he was a resident of Tehran, security forces did not allow his family to bury him in Tehran, so they were forced to bury him in in Shahriar in Karaj.

Mrs. Akmali had been summoned by the security forces, every year before his son’s anniversary, and got warnings regarding the restrictions to be followed in the anniversary.
