One Prisoner Died in Tabriz Prison / Habib Sasanian in Critical Health Condition

HRANA News Agency – Muhammad Esalari, prisoner in ward 12 in Tabriz Central Prison, following a severe heart pain called for medical attention, but instead of being transferred to the infirmary of the prison, he was accused of malingering by the authorities and transferred to special ward and he eventually lost his life. And also Habib Sasanian, political prisoner in this ward suffers from medical problems and called for medical attention, but he was accused of malingering by the authorities and transferred to special ward in the same way.

Another Group of Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Supporters Submitted Themselves to Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – On December 13, a group of supporters of Mohammad Ali Taheri, submitted themselves to Evin Prison. They considered Mr. Taheri being imprisoned and his disciples being beaten, as unjustified and announced “If having Mr. Taheri’s opinions is a crime so we are guilty and we should be arrested.”

Golrokh Irai Released / Arash Sadeghi Ended His Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – On January 3, 2017, Golrokh Irai was released on furlough from women’s ward of Evin prison, so Arash Sadeghi in ward 8 of the prison ended his hunger strike on its 72nd day.

HRANA News Agency – A bail has been issued for Arash Sadeghi and his wife Golrokh Irai.

A Prisoner Committed Suicide in Rajaei Shahr Prison and Died

HRANA News Agency – A prisoner with life imprisonment sentence, hanged himself in Rajaei Shahr prison and died.

Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Followers Gathered in front of Evin Prison for the 2nd Day

HRANA News Agency – For the second day, some of the followers of Mohammad Ali Taheri gathered in front of Evin prison within a campaign called “migration to prison” and some were arrested and transferred to an unknown location.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a group of Mohammad Ali Taheri’s followers gathered in front of Evin prison and asked to be arrested, on Thursday December 15, 2016. They stated that beating Mr. Taheri and his followers is unjustifiable and announced that “if being like Mr. Taheri is a crime, then we are also criminals”. Supporters of Mohammad Ali Taheri Submitted Themselves to Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – A group of supporters of Muhammad Ali Taheri voluntarily referred to Evin prison and at least 41 of them were detained and transferred to Great Prison of Tehran Bozorg (Fshafvyh) and the Women’s Prison in Ray (Qarchak). They protested against detention of Mohammad Ali Taheri.

2 Imprisoned Brothers in Critical Health Condition in Sanandaj Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hossain Daneshmand and Hasan Daneshmand were arrested in Tehran and Marivan by Iranian Revolutionary Guards. While the brothers were transferred to Sanandaj Prison, Hussein Daneshmand suffered from bleeding of kidney and severe pains and has been deprived of basic health care.
According to a report received by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hossain Daneshmand and Hasan Daneshmand who were arrested in Tehran and Marivan by Iranian Revolutionary Guards, were transferred to Sanandaj Prison on November 10. The Campaign of ‘Rights of Prisoners’ Launched by a Letter of Atena Daemi

HRANA News Agency – Recently a campaign with the hashtag #right-of-prisoner with the aim of calling the head of prisons to respect the rights of inmates such as access to health care, has been launched based on the international law. The campaign has been organized on the basis of Atena Daemi’s letter before going to jail, by United for Iran.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Atena Daemi, jailed human rights activist wrote in a letter: “Today some of the bravest and most committed citizens are imprisoned because of their political, civil and human rights activities and authorities are refusing the provision of health care to prisoners by clearly violating domestic and international laws. A Prisoner Committed Suicide and Died in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – On December 5, a 28-year-old prisoner from Kouhdasht in Lorestan who was serving his life sentence in Rajai Shahr prison committed suicide. The prisoner died before being transferred to the medical centers.
