HRANA News Agency – Finally, after four years and six months since the arrest of Sohail Babadi, prisoner of conscience in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, Branch 36 of the Tehran Appeals Court acquitted him of the charge of “gathering and colluding” and reduced five years of his sentence.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on August 23, by the verdict of the appeal court, Sohail Babadi, prisoner of conscience was acquitted of the charge of “assembly and collusion against the regime”. Despite Authorities Denial; Iraj Mohammadi’s Father Beaten in the Judiciary
HRANA News Agency – On August 22, Iraj Mohammadi’s father was insulted, harassed and severely beaten by deputy of prosecutor of East Azerbaijan province, Seyed Mohsen Ghoraishi and transferred to a hospital when he was trying to get some information about the fate of his son 10 days after his arrest. On August 24, Mr. Mozaffari Chief Justice of East Azerbaijan denied HRANA’s report. Mr. Mohammadi in an interview with HRANA responded to this denial.

Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Nekounam Sent to Furlough
HRANA News Agency – Imprisoned dissident cleric, Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Nekounam was transferred to his house from Saheli prison in Qom for a furlough. This is the third time in less than a month that he has been transferred to his house on the furlough but the Special Clerical Court prevents his hospitalization.

A Report about Sohail Arabi’s Situation in Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Sohail Arabi is a prisoner of conscience who has been sentenced to 7 years and six months in prison and held in ward 350 of Evin prison since 2012. He had to spend his birthday on August 20 in prison, while judicial and prison authorities are rejecting his requests for parole and furlough.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), as Sohail Arabi’s death sentence was rejected last year, he was first sentenced to 90 months in prison and two years deprivation from religious activities and then to 78 months. Mohammad Amin Agoushi Ended His Hunger Strike
HRANA News Agency – Iraj Mohammadi and Mohammad Amin Agoushi, two security prisoners in Tabriz prison who had been transferred to solitary confinement following the hunger strike by sewing their lips, ended their hunger strike by the promise of prison authorities and were transferred to separate wards from solitary confinement on August 22.
According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Iraj Mohammadi and Mohammad Amin Agoushi, two security prisoner in Tabriz prison, had started a hunger strike with sewing their lips in protest against the “halting their furloughs, visits or telephone calls” on August 13 and were transferred to quarantine section of clergies ward by the order of Military Deputy Prosecutor of East Azerbaijan province, “Syed Mohsin Qureshi”.
