HRANA News Agency – Hamid Manafi, the Azerbaijaniani political activist was transferred to the clinic of Evin prison clinic because of his physical deterioration for the second time since his arrest.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Manafi was transferred to solitary confinement from general ward because of going on hunger strike since May 12. Later on, three days after he started Dry Hunger Strike, he was transferred to prison’s clinic as his physical condition was critical.
Manafi informed his wife that he has started dry hunger strike through a phone call on May 14.
His prison mates announced that Manafi was transferred to prison’s clinic due to severe gastric bleeding.
However, this political prisoner was admitted to the prison’s clinic for two weeks due to severe pain in his chest.
March, Hamid Manafi was arrested along with six other activists and transferred to Evin Prison in March because they participated in International Mother tongue Day ceremony in Tehran.
So far in connection with this case, “Alireza Farshi, Behnam Sheikhi, Rostam Kazempour and Mansoor Fathi,” have been released on heavy bails.
In the meantime, Mahmoud Ojaghloo, one of the detained persons in this case went on hunger strike from May 8.
