HRANA News Agency – Karim Maroof Aziz, political prisoner in Rajai Shahr Prison, was returned to prison before finishing his treatment time period after an open heart surgery.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Karim Maroof Aziz, 74, political prisoner in ward 12 of Rajai Shahr prison, was transferred to “Imam Khomeini Hospital” on Sunday 28^th September because of heart problems.
On 1^st November, he had open heart surgery and medics had to use his legs’ vessels for vein graft.
Karim Maroof Aziz was returned to Rajai Shahr prison right after the operation while his health condition was very bad.
In this regard, an informed source told HRANA’s reporter: “Karim maroof Aziz had a big operation and he is in a very bad condition and he should stay at hospital to get after operation cares and a full treatment but prison officials rejected to let him stay in hospital.”
Karim Maroof Aziz is sentenced to life imprisonment and has spent 17 years in prison so far. He has had three operations in prison. Two previous surgeries were; Appendix and Stomach Surgery.
