HRANA News Agency – At least seven prisoners were executed in Rajai Shahr Prison on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. They were mainly charged with murder.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), at least seven prisoners who were mostly accused of murder were executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.
These prisoners, who are mostly accused of “committing murder”, had been transferred to solitary confinement in the Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj on Monday, August 14 and on Tuesday, August 15, in two separate turns.
The identities of the prisoners who were transferred to serve the death sentence on Monday are as follows:
1- Mostafa Bashkou (Turkmen) from ward one
2- Muharram Abdi from ward one
3- Seyyed Mohammad Seyyed Abdullah from ward one (he was transferred to execute the death sentence for the second time).
4- Rasoul Golmohammadi from ward One (Teacher and Hzfez of the Quran)
Three other prisoners, named Majid Agharahimi, from ward one, Shahram Abadehi and Mohammad Bohloli, a juvenile offender, were also transferred to solitary confinement along with four of these prisoners to serve the death sentence, on Monday. But they were returned to their wards for some reasons, including the victim’s parents’ agreement with a new deadline.
At the same time as the three prisoners returned, on Tuesday, four other prisoners, mostly from ward 7, were transferred to solitary confinement for execution. Among these prisoners, only the identity of Harif (Sagh) Gholsmi has been established, so far.
Harif (Sagh) Gholsmi was sentenced to death on the charge of “transporting and storing 1200 grams of crack” in the first case, but he killed another prisoner during the transfer to solitary confinement for execution. Although the reasons for this action are not known, this method is sometimes used by prisoners on the verge of execution at the last minute for making another case and preventing the execution.
One of the four prisoners who were transferred on Tuesday was returned to the former ward by stopping the sentence.
