HRANA News Agency – Habib Sasanian, poet from Ardabil, is still in an undecided condition, after 5 months since he has been arrested, and imprisoned in central prison of Tabriz. No court has been assigned for his case and his family are worried about his health condition.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Habib Sasanian was arrested along with 5 other Azeri activists in Ardabil, on May 15.
A close source to Sasanian’s family told HRANA’s reporter, “After 5 months since his arrest, there is no court assigned for his case and it is still unknown why he has been arrested and what his allegations are.”
This informed source also said, “Mr. Sasanian did not have any health issue prior to his arrest, but now he has progressing pain in his body and that has worried his family”.
Habib Sasanian was arrested along with Mehdi Javadzadeh, Hamid Saghafi, Babak Avand, Esmaeil Afkhami and Younes Rahimi.
The head of judiciary of East Azerbaijan province called these 6 people member of espionage group of Gamou in June.
Mozafari claimed, “These people were gathering classified military and economical documents and provided them to enemies of the regime”.
