HRANA News Agency – Following the protests in various cities of Azerbaijan and Ardebil provinces in response to the article published in the newspaper of “Tarhe No” and the continuation of the protests in recent days, a wave of arrests of protesting citizens in these cities has begun. The latest list of names or those who were arrested or released from custody and also, the latest status of 31 of these individuals follows.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), after several days of protests in different cities of Azerbaijan and Ardabil provinces in response to the article published in the “Tarhe No” newspaper, civilians are being still arrested.
According to the latest reports, the identities of at least 18 civilians who are detained in Tabriz have been verified: Saeid Panji, Ali Imani, Ehsan Mohammadi, Ali Jabbari, Jafar Ghafarloo, Mehdi Heydar Nejad, Amir Reza Nassiri Shahi, Ali Gharbi, Siamak Seyfi, Mehdi Akbari, Hamid Seifi, Yaghob Aslani, Nader Mostafa Pour, Rozbeh Piri, Amir Hossein Yavari, Naier Fathalylo, Maryam Fathalylo and Nasim Sadeghi.
A bail of 1 billion IRR has been issued for Rozbeh Piri, Nasim Sadeghi, Naier and Maryam Fathalylo and Ali Jabbari, poet, was transferred to Tabriz prison.
It has been reported that in addition to the arrests by Police intelligence service, the Revolutionary Guards also have done unlawful arrests.
The news coming from the city of Khoy suggest that eight detainees, Salman Iraqi, Vahid Safari, Javad Alizadeh, Farhad Soleymanpoor, Hussein Bostanchi, Mohammad Hadi Abbas Zadeh, Mehrab Kazemloei and Saeid Varmazyar, who had been arrested on Thursday, were temporarily released on the bail on Friday July 29.
It has been said that Hussein Bostanchi, one of these eight civilians who had been beaten and injured during the arrest, was admitted in Ghamar Bani Hashem hospital in Khoy and was interrogated in the hospital.
They were charged with disturbing the public order in the Revolutionary Court in Khoy by the prosecutor, Shahhussein.
HRANA had reported earlier that after protests by Turkish citizens to racial insult in Tarhe No newspaper in Tabriz and Urmia cities, a large number of citizens were arrested 15 to 25 of whom were released on the bail or by writing onus letter and at least seven people are still in detention.
On the other hand, three detainees in recent days in the city of Ardebil; Mehdi Hoshmand, Reza Vahdat and Hamid Adib, have been released on the bail but there is no information about the fate of the other detainees, including Ahmad Mohammadpour, Husain Balakhani and Mohammad Jolani.
