Ahmad Key-Shams Held in Legal Limbo for Over Nine Months

HRANA – Ahmad Key-Shams, a resident of Izeh, remains in legal limbo at Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz more than nine months after his arrest. Despite suffering from kidney disease and developing vision problems, he has been denied adequate medical care.

According to HRANA, Ahmad Key-Shams remains in detention at Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz.

According to information received by HRANA, despite more than nine months having passed since his arrest, Mr. Key-Shams remains in a state of legal uncertainty, and no court hearing has yet been held to address the charges against him.

An informed source told HRANA that he suffers from kidney pain, eye problems, and blurred vision. Despite Mr. Key-Shams’s repeated requests for medical treatment, the relevant authorities have refused to provide him with adequate medical care or transfer him to medical facilities.

On November 11, 2025, Mr. Key-Shams was arrested by security forces at his private residence in Izeh, with violence used during the arrest. He was subsequently transferred to the IRGC Intelligence detention facility in Ahvaz and, some time later, to Sheiban Prison.

As of the time of this report, no information has been obtained regarding the charges brought against him.

Ahmad Key-Shams, aged approximately 37, is a resident of Izeh, has previously been arrested and convicted in connection with his activities.
