A Short Report about the Situation of Sunni Prisoners in Rajaei Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – There are more than 70 Sunni prisoners kept in Rajaei Shahr prison with political-security charges, 42 of whom are imprisoned with the sentences between 5 to 20 years and are being kept in hall number 21 of ward number 7, and at least 30 prisoners with death sentences who are kept in hall number 10 of ward 4 of the prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), more than 70 Sunni prisoners are kept in Rajaei Shahr prison with security and political allegations and have received their sentences under sacrilege charge. These prisoners are usually residents of western parts of Iran and are kept kilometers far from their hometown. A Father And His Son Deprived Of Being Held In The Same Ward In Rajaei Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Rajaei Shahr prison officials rejected the request of an imprisoned Sunni father and his son to be transferred to the same ward. Taymoor and Erfan Naderizadeh said that due to differences of visit days for different wards and long distances between Sanandaj and Karaj, their family could not afford to travel twice a week for visit.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the vice executive officer of Rajaei Shahr has responded to them, that the prosecutor’s representative was deciding about this issue. Different Wards Cause Difficulties For The Family To Visit Their Imprisoned Son And Father

HRANA News Agency – Erfan Naderizadeh, Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison, who is held in separate ward from his father, has requested to be transferred to hall 10, the whereabouts of his father. He said that due to the difference in the meeting days of the wards and the long distance from Sanandaj to Karaj, their families could not go to visit them, twice a week.

According to the report of HRANA, Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran, over the past few days, a group of prisoners in hall 10 of Rajai Shahr prison have been transferred to ward seven. One of the prisoners is Erfan Naderizadeh who was incarcerated in hall 10 with his father. 42 Sunni Prisoners Transferred To Hall 21 Of Ward 7 Of Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – 42 Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison were suddenly transferred to hall 21 of ward 7. This sudden decision and lack of facilities in the new ward, has sparked protests from the prisoners.

According to HRANA’s sources, Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran, the hall 21 of ward seven in Rajai Shahr prison has no basic facilities, proper and adequate lighting and heating and despite the cold weather, its windows are open with no glass.
