Manuchher Khalousi Sentenced: Six Years for Being a Bahai

HRANA News Agency – The Revolutionary Court in the city of Mashhad has sentenced Manuchher Khalousi to six years in prison for his Bahai beliefs.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the charges against him were “propaganda against the regime” or “acting against national security,” although the evidence cited does not support either charge: it focuses simply on proving that he is a Bahai. Report from the Bahai wing of Vakilabad Women’s Prison, Mashhad

HRANA News Agency – The fifth ward of the women’s prison of the central prison of Mashhad, in Vakilabad, consists of one room which is approximately 30 square meters, including medical services and a bathroom.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at present six Bahai women prisoners are held there, all charged with acting against national security and spreading propaganda against the Islamic Republic under Articles 499 and 500 of the Iranian Constitution by promoting the Bahai Faith and participating in its activities. Manuchher Kholousi’s trial adjourned in Mashhad

HRANA News Agency – Manuchher Kholousi, a Bahai from Mashhad, was tried on July 8.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA),  he was charged with “acting against national security by giving interviews with foreign media.” However no interviews with Mr. Kholousi are known, in either Iranian or foreign media. Kholousi sisters begin long prison terms

HRANA News Agency – Early on March 30, agents from the Ministry of Intelligence arrested Nava and Nika Khoousi.

Two Baha’i sisters denied full access at Mashhad exhibition

HRANA News Agency – Two Baha’i sisters Nika and Nava Kholoosi have been denied access to fully participate in flower exhibitions held in Mashhad.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Nika and Nava Kholoosi are two young Baha’i sisters who were behind bars for six months and released in March 2013 after posting bail.  While waiting for their verdicts, they rented a booth at Mashhad International Exhibition Center to participate in the annual plant and flower exhibition which starts on May 15 and runs until May 19, 2013. Sanaz Tafazoli transferred to serve her imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – Sanaz Tafazoli, Baha’i female citizen in Mashhad was transferred to Vakil Abad prison to serve her imprisonment.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a Baha’i female citizen, sentened to 6 month in prison was transferred to Vakil Abad prison to serve her imprisonment on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
