HRANA News Agency – An estimated number of 50 political prisoners held in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj have been transferred to a new and security hall in recent weeks. There are the deprivations which have been imposed on prisoners in this hall where even the toilets are equipped with CCTV cameras. The situation has prompted political prisoners to protest. At least 18 prisoners are on the 25th day of their hunger strike in a critical condition.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 53 political-security prisoners detained in hall 12 of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj were transferred to a hall which was previously rebuilt and developed by security forces, with the presence of a large number of prison guards, without prior notice on July 30, 2017. The hall is equipped with a large number of surveillance cameras and surveillance devices, as well as the shields that separate it from the rest of the prison. Political Prisoners of Rajai Shahr Prison Transferred to a New Hall
HRANA News Agency – An estimated number of 50 Political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj have been transferred to a new security ward. In this ward, where even bathrooms are equipped with CCTV cameras, there are more limits for prisoners. This new situation has prompted political prisoners to protest. 12 prisoners have gone on hunger strike and 6 inmates are in solitary confinement. Tensions in this ward continue.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), with the presence of a large number of prison guards, and without prior notice, about 50 political prisoners in Hall 12 of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj were transferred to a place which has been built from a long time ago by the security forces. This site is equipped with a large number of surveillance cameras and surveillance devices, as well as shields that separate it from the rest of the prison. Pressures Rise on Prisoners of Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – Thousands of prisoners in Rajai shahr prison in Karaj, are suffering from health and respiratory problems more than before. That is due to the lack of ventilation systems after the closure of fresh air to the Halls and rooms in this prison. In addition, during the recent months, prisoners have reported the spread of headaches and nausea among prisoners following the installation of a large number of parasite devices in the prison.

At Least 8 Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj
HRANA News Agency – At least eight prisoners charged with “murder” were executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj. It is to say that, two other prisoners were executed in Tabriz Central Prison and one prisoner in Adel Abad prison, in Shiraz, on similar charges.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), at least 14 prisoners charged with murder had been transferred to solitary confinement in Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, on April 16, 2017, and at least eight of them were executed in this prison, on April 18. Mistreatment of Sunni Prisoners at Prison Visits
HRANA News Agency – Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison who have been deported from different areas of the country to the prison, are discriminated against and mistreated at the time of prison visits. The ‘Bloody Ring’ of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj
HRANA News Agency – At least two of the prisoners of ward 6 in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, committed suicide, to protest at being exiled to Hall 11 of ward 4, known as the “Bloody Ring.” The term in this prison refers to the halls which are used by prison officials to put those who have problems with each other or mafia gangs within the prison, and are created and managed for clearing between prisoners. Recently, at least six other prisoners in similar protests committed suicide or self-mutilation.
An informed source, regarding the condition of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj told HRANA’s reporter: “When the transfer order was issued, Navid Yaghmai tried to protest against that by cutting his hand to committee suicide, and Amir Nemati known as A’del, also committed self-mutilation to avoid going there and gave ultimatum that if they would transfer him he would commit suicide, but “Hassan Kurd”, head of the ward 6, and head of the Rajai Shahr prison’s security, threatened him and took him and transferred him by force.” Continue reading “The ‘Bloody Ring’ of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj”
