HRANA News Agency – After three weeks of constant protest of the political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj by refusing to receive food rations, on January 16, 2018, the prison guards went to the hall and claimed that they had intervened at the behest of the head of the Prisons Organization of Tehran Province to end the protest. The forces following inspection and creating fear and panic, threatened that the political prisoners would be exiled to dangerous and violent wards, if they would continue the protest.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 22 days after the beginning of the protest of the political prisoners in the Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj by refusing to receive food rations, there is still no change in the conditions of this place despite the promises of the prosecutor’s representative to improve the situation. Protestors Arrested in front of Rajai Shahr Prison of Karaj
HRANA News Agency – While the situation of detainees in hall 10 of Rajai Shahr prison still remains unclear, a number of civil activists were also present in front of the prison to show their solidarity with them on September 13, 2017. The peaceful presence of these activists was drawn to violence by police forces and some were arrested.

HRANA News Agency – At least two prisoners were executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj on August 23, 2017.

HRANA News Agency – At least seven prisoners were executed in Rajai Shahr Prison on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. They were mainly charged with murder.

At Least 7 Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison of Karaj
HRANA News Agency – Seven of eleven prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinement in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj were executed and four returned to their wards with consent from the parents of victims. Among the executed, there was a prisoner whose sentence was the result of a tribal conflict, and his death sentence was issued on the basis of the “knowledge of the judge”, and not on the documents and evidences. His execution resulted in a conflict in front of the prison and police used warning shots.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), seven prisoners were executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj on July 5. The identity of these seven prisoners have been announced by HRANA as: Nasser Abangah, Abbas Yousefi, Hossein Rahzani, Mehdi Ebrahimi, Omid Sohrabi, Omid Rostami and Ghahraman Ali Abbaspour. At Least 7 Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – 11 prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinement were executed in Raja Shahr prison; at least 7 of these prisoners had retaliation sentences.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), at least 11 prisoners who had received retaliation sentences had been transferred to solitary confinements on July 2nd. 8 Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj

At Least 16 Prisoners Executed in 2 Prisons
HRANA News Agency – At least 16 prisoners, on charges of drug related crimes, armed robbery, and murder, were hanged in two prisons.
Human Rights organisations, earlier, had urged Iranian government to stop the execution of prisoners of drug related offences.

Political Prisoners’ Hall in Rajai Shahr Prison Caught Fire
HRANA News Agency – Hall 12 of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj caught fire after the authorities “were welding to seal the windows”. A number of prisoners of this hall had trouble breathing and were hospitalized in the clinic, following the accumulation and concentration of the smoke.
